3PL – Fulfillment Warehousing Tips

3PL – Fulfillment Warehousing Tips

In order to get the most out of your 3PL partnership and fulfillment warehousing, make sure to keep in mind a couple important tips.

3PL

Product warehousing and inventory management are critical to successful, cost-effective fulfillment. No matter what you sell, your 3PL provider must protect your merchandise from shrinkage. For companies whose products have expiration dates or are temperature-sensitive, etc. warehouse safety and security take on a whole new meaning.

These two tips will help you ensure you’re getting everything you need from third party logistics.

Tip #1: take our assessment.

Getting the most from your fulfillment warehousing (and all aspects of your fulfillment program) requires two things:

  1. Knowing where you stand now
  2. Knowing where you want to be

We’ve developed a quiz you can use to grade your current efforts. It will help pinpoint where you need to improve, and if you’re like many companies, it will probably point up some opportunities and benefits you didn’t realize you could get from a 3PL provider. This is great stuff – it may raise the bar on your 3PL expectations, but the biggest beneficiaries will be your customers.

And you know what happens when customers benefit. (Hint: think increased sales, stronger brand loyalty, higher customer lifetime value. Oh, plus reviews and social shares that attract new customers.)

Tip #2: read our e-book.

It’s called, “Choosing the Right Fulfillment House for Your Company.” It’s free, but it’s priceless when you consider how much you can learn from it:

  • What outsourcing to a 3PL provider can do for your company
  • Why it takes people as well as equipment to do the job right
  • Why flexibility matters in a 3PL provider
  • What special qualifications or certifications you should ask about
  • How “high touch” can take your fulfillment from OK to incredible

Then let’s meet

By the time you digest the results of your assessment and finish reading our e-book, you may think you know exactly what you want and need from fulfillment warehousing. But you still need a custom-tailored plan, so beware any potential provider who promotes their plug-and-play service.

Our USA Fulfillment team never recommends a plan of action until they can meet face-to-face with a potential client. We want to see your facility and talk with your key people about how you operate, your biggest challenges, what’s working and what is not.

We’ll invite you to our place, too. We think it’s important that you meet the people who will be representing your brand to your customers. Because that’s what fulfillment is all about, from the first ordering contact through the warehousing and packing process, to at-their-door delivery. If you’re impressed by our state-of-the-art systems and you love our people — and we’re pretty confident about that — your customers will love our service, too.

How can we be so sure? USA Fulfillment is 100% employee-owned. We don’t just work here, we’re building a future for our business and our families. The only way we can succeed is by giving your customers the same kind of exceptional, personalized experience we’d like to get ourselves. That includes warehousing that protects your brand by protecting your products.
