Times are tough and most supply chain systems are overtaxed and all out of whack. It’s hard to maintain normal productivity rates whilst trying to adhere and adapt to new protocols sent out to us on what seems like a weekly basis.
We get it. We’ve felt the aftershock of all this, but we also haven’t forgotten that our customers are relying on us during this trying time. If there’s a way to continue providing without compromising the health and safety of employees and customers, we are honored to do it.
Here’s some food for thought when it comes to maintaining high quality supplement 3PL during these tough times.
First up: are you outsourcing? You should be. If you’ve still got in-house logistics, you’re at a disadvantage.
Why?
When your main focus should be your customers and your products, an in-house show can be an ever-increasing distraction and expense. Challenges from hiring and training to quality control and the high cost of updating technology will only keep setting you back. Moreover, supplements require perfect conditions and the utmost care.
So, learn how to choose the perfect partner.
Second up: if you do outsource, are they a vendor or a partner? Let’s hope they’re a partner.
Why’s it matter?
It matters because partners have your best interest in mind over a long-term period. Vendors care about one-and-done, and often the quality of services is severely lacking. Partners are invested in you, encouraging and tracking your growth and improvements. They learn your business as well as your products and they have more reason to give you high-quality, top-notch services.
And when you run effectively and efficiently, you save both yourself and your customers a whole load of headaches, financial and otherwise.
Chances are that during this time you have more customers ordering and expecting their supplements. That means higher overall fulfillment volume and, at the very least, your fulfillment services will have to meet that increased demand without faltering and without delays.
Or at least, try their hardest. With an increase of orders coming in (and a lower percentage of workers on-site for the sake of health and safety), we can only do so much.
But chances are that the higher quality partner you have, the more proactive, prepared, and accurate they will be. You’ll be better at every step – ordering, pick and pack, and shipping – and you’ll not only save money, but you’ll improve customer happiness.
Because, few things are more important than getting our customers the products they need right now. Customer satisfaction is everything.
Everything else in your supplement 3PL process is a moot point if your products aren’t taken care of. No matter how fast you can deliver your products, it won’t be worth it if the supplements arrive damaged, expired, or just plain wrong.
Supplements are a product that require extra special living conditions and need to be handled with care. If anything, hone in your focus on taking care of what matters.
Take care of your business, take care of your products, and take care of your customers. Give us a call, we might just be able to help you get your supplement 3PL back on track.
